Removing a ceramic tile floor to install new wood.

Picture

Picture
The existing kitchen floor had OSB glued down to a concrete floor with wood flooring nailed to it. The rooms on each side of the kitchen (dining and laundry) both had ceramic tile and were at different levels.

This is where a wall was remove between the kitchen and dining room.  The pipes you see running through the trench are in floor heat.

Picture
We then used a liquid vapor barrier on the existing concrete, installed 5/8" OSB and full glued quarter sawn white oak down to the OSB.

This is the view from the kitchen into the rear entry/laundry area that is now divided with French doors

This view is from the dining room through the kitchen.   The two rooms use to be divided with a wall.

All the remodeling including removing walls, drywall, painting and installing the cabinetry was completed by another contractor.  Our job was the floors only.
